Mad River Cleanup – September 21, 2024
Hello Potential Mad River Volunteer!
I’m excited to announce that the date for our large-scale cleanup of the Mad River has been set for September 21, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
We’ve received tremendous support and partnership commitments from several organizations, including Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Birchbark Canoe Livery, Buckeye United Fly Fishers, Central Ohio Fly Fishers, Miami Valley Fly Fishers, Nocterra Brewery, Ohio Division of Wildlife, and Ohio Women on the Fly. We’re also awaiting confirmation from a couple of other potential partners, so stay tuned!
As we move forward, I would like to get a rough estimate of how many volunteers we can expect. This will help us secure food trucks to set up west of Urbana off US-36 as we wrap up the cleanup. Additionally, Nocterra has graciously offered to provide some water for volunteers during the event and drinks afterward, so getting an accurate headcount will be key for planning.
Several of you have already expressed interest in volunteering, and if you’d like to join us, please reply to this email by August 29. I believe I’ve responded to everyone who’s inquired so far, but if I’ve missed anyone, I apologize—please don’t hesitate to reach out again!
We’ll be launching our marketing campaign soon, so keep an eye out for promotional materials. Please feel free to share them on social media or pass the information along to friends and family.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me by replying to this email. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to working together on this important project!
