Greetings all,
My name is Andy Scott. My wife and I are fellow TU Madmen members and I’m excited to announce that we are planning to launch a new chapter of the Mayfly Project here in central Ohio next spring. It is a program designed to reach out to children in the local foster-care community to provide opportunities for mentorship through the sport of fly fishing. More information can be found at the Mayfly Project website.
The Mayfly Project is currently undertaking a major fundraising effort to raise support for 17 new projects slated to start next year including ours here in central Ohio. The organization completely supports each new project in its first year with all necessary equipment for each kid in the program including a full outfit of rod, reel, all accessories needed, and waders so that they can continue to fish long after their time with us. This is all free of charge to the kids.
The fundraiser, One Fly, gives each contributor an opportunity to purchase chances to win some really unique prizes in the fly fishing world, but they also send each contributor a small token of appreciation in the form of hand-tied flies you can take out on the river.
I appreciate your support of the Mayfly Project and specifically the contributions that will allow us to launch such a worthwhile opportunity for some kids in need of some hope here in central Ohio starting next spring.
Please reach out if you want to talk about other ways you can contribute to the project at theandyescott@gmail.com.
aDios,
andy scott
