Seeking Volunteers
to Help Students and Veterans

May 6th 8:00 – 12:30
Big Walnut Middle School/Sunbury Reservoir

Description of Event: As part of the Big Walnut Middle School Community Volunteer Day events, approximately 24-26 students will sign-up to meet, fish with, and interact with participating Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) veterans. At the school, prior to heading to the reservoir, coffee and donuts will provided to our PHWFF volunteers and veterans along with a box lunch following the event. Students will be paired with veteran participants and a PHWFF volunteer. This is a great opportunity to fish and share veteran contributions with eager to learn students and to have a positive impact on this younger generation as to the importance of our military personnel in maintaining our national freedom and enduring security. Blue gill, bass and crappie will be our main fishing quarry for the day. As an added bonus, one week prior to the event, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will be stocking the reservoirs with hatchery-raised rainbow trout!

Contact PHWFF volunteer John Davis (614-425-6160 cell), jdavis6785@sbcglobal.net for additional information and to sign up as a volunteer or veteran participant.
